ISO doesn't actually do the certification, but rather works with certification bodies like the ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) in the United States. StackAware is under contract with Schellman to get its ISO 42001 certification, but that is pending Schellman's accreditation with ANAB.
ISO does not provide ISO 27001 certificates. They create the standard, but it is up to national accreditation organizations to accredit auditors who can grant the certificate. Same goes for ISO 42001.
Thanks for sharing ! Quick question: Have ISO / BSI officially started awarding certificates to companies who certify against the standard ?

thanks for clarifying Walter ! I am in the UK so I guess it is different here as lots of people were asking
Does it mean ISO does not provide certificates similar to ISO 27001? To achieve the same, we have to reach out to ANAB?
Is my understanding correct?
