Cybersecurity is big business.

And for a capitalist like me, that’s good news.

I frequently get inquiries from investors about potential targets, so decided to put together an “off-the-shelf” guide for them…and you!

So below I’ll keep a continuously-updated list of those tools, posts, and other resources cyber investors will want to have when considering investment decisions.

Please comment with any additional resources you think others might find helpful.

Additional Disclaimer (on top of my standard one): This information is not financial advice and is for informational purposes only. It is not intended as a recommendation, endorsement, or solicitation to buy, sell, or hold any specific security or asset, or pursue a given investment strategy.

General

  • Top 10 resources about the business of cybersecurity.

  • The Security Industry by Richard Stiennon. A regular newsletter.

  • Dedicated IT Harvest Dashboard. A paid product.

Venture Capital (VC)

  • Selected Venture in Security Resources. Ross Haleliuk has an outstanding newsletter targeted specifically at investors in the cybersecurity space. Below are highlights from his writing that are most applicable to VCs.

    • Top venture firms in the space.

Private equity (PE)

  • Spreadsheet review of private equity deals in the space.

    • From Richard Stiennon of The Security Industry.

Micro-PE and search funds

Here are some most common (or top) cybersecurity ETF's, I have not done deep research on them, but might be a good approach for the young investor, or someone not too savvy in investing in stocks: CIBR, IHACK, HACK.

If you look at the top holdings in there, you'll find Palo Alto, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Okta, Fortinet, Cloudflare, Akamai, etc..
